Honey Hollow sits inside Massanutten Resort in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, a four-season mountain resort where something is always open. Here's how our guests spend their days, from the slopes to Skyline Drive.

Honey Hollow: ski slopes at Massanutten in winter

Winter: skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing

Massanutten's slopes are about four minutes from the house, with runs for first-timers through experienced skiers, plus a snow tubing park that's lit for night sessions. After a day outside, the hot tub, barrel sauna and fire pit are waiting back at the house.

Year-round: the indoor water park

Massanutten's indoor water park stays warm in every season, which makes it a favorite with families on rainy days and winter weekends.

Spring and summer: outdoor water park, golf and the community pool

In warmer months the resort opens its outdoor water park, and there are two golf courses on the mountain. Honey Hollow guests also have access to the shared community pool, open seasonally from May to September, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Mountain biking, zip lines and trails

The resort is known for its mountain bike trails and zip lines, and there's hiking right on the mountain. Some resort activities require tickets or passes, so check hours and availability before you go.

Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive

The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park is a short drive away. Skyline Drive's overlooks are spectacular in fall, when the leaves typically peak in October.

Harrisonburg, caverns and the valley

Harrisonburg and James Madison University are about 20 minutes away, with restaurants and breweries downtown, and Luray Caverns makes an easy day trip. Many local restaurants also deliver to the resort.

Stay tipPlan dinners at the house: the kitchen is fully stocked, the deck table seats the whole group, and the fire pit is ready for s'mores.
